today. The inauguration of the fleet was held at Kochi Shipyard in South India,
where INS Vikrant was launched.

achievement, India has joined the ranks of the few advanced countries in the
world to manufacture aircraft carriers." He said that "Vikrant has

According
to the report, Vikrant is the largest ship in India and the seventh largest in
the world with a length of 262 meters and a width of 62 meters. 20 thousand
crore Indian rupees have been spent on the preparation of this fleet weighing
45 thousand tons. The deck of this ship is equal to two football fields while
its height is equal to an 18-story building.
The
ship has 2,400 compartments in which 16,000 crew members can live
simultaneously. 30 fighter planes can be kept on its deck at a time. A 16-bed
hospital and an emergency medical care unit equipped with modern facilities
have also been built inside this fleet.
The
aircraft landing exercise on INS Vikrant will begin in November, which is
likely to be completed by mid-2023. It should be noted that before this, only
the US, UK, Russia, China have the capability to build an aircraft carrier
fleet and France had it.
