SAUD ALSHAALAN THREATENING AGAINST WESTERN COUNTRIES |
Riyadh (News Update) A
video of Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman's cousin Saud AlShaalan has gone viral in which he is making threatening statements against
Western countries.
Recently,
the United States expressed its deep displeasure over the decision of OPECPlus, an organization of oil producing countries led by Saudi Arabia, to cut
oil production. It is being said in the US that Saudi Arabia should not be
forgiven for this and that the time has come for tougher measures against it.
In
reaction to this, Saud al-Shaalan is threatening the West in the video in
English and French, saying, "If anyone challenges the existence of this
country (Saudi Empire), we are all ready for martyrdom and jihad." Saudal-Shaalan. This video is going viral on social media.
Saudi
Arabia's human rights lawyer Abulullah Al-Awda from the Middle East Eye said
that Saud al-Sha'lan is a tribal leader and he is the grandson of the founder
of Saudi Arabia, Abdul Aziz.
The
US-Saudi Arabia partnership is in jeopardy
The
meeting of G20 countries is going to be held in Indonesia from November 15. The
G20 includes countries with the largest economies in the world. US President
Joe Biden and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman will also attend this
meeting.
On
Sunday, the Biden administration made it clear that President Biden has no
intention of meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during the G20
meeting.
The
White House says that the decision of OPEC Plus is in favor of Russia. The
relationship between Saudi Arabia and the United States has been going through
a rough patch for some time now.
The
Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) headed by Saudi Arabia
has decided to cut oil production. America is angry with this decision because
if there is a decrease in oil, then the prices will increase.
Prices
have already increased due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The US had also
tried to convince Saudi Arabia not to do so. Even President Joe Biden visited
Saudi Arabia in July this year but the two countries failed to reach an
agreement.
OPEC's
decision is seen in the light of the warfare in Ukraine. Russia is the member
of OPEC Plus as well. America feels deceived by Saudi Arabia. Russia has cut
off natural gas supplies to Europe and cold weather has hit.
The US thought that Saudi Arabia would not allow oil prices to rise. The United States, through the United Arab Emirates, also tried to convince Saudi Arabia not to follow through on its decision to cut oil production.
